The Montgomery County Genealogical Society is housed in the Litchfield Museum and Route 66 Welcome Center at 334 Historic Old Route 66 North, in Litchfield. The Museum is just south of the intersection of Historic Route 66 and Illinois Route 16, across from the Ariston Café.

Winter hours (November 1 - March 31) for the research center are Wednesdays through Saturdays. During summer hours (April 1 - October 31), the research center is also open on Mondays.
