"We should get into the habit of reading inspirational books, looking at inspirational pictures, hearing inspirational music, associating with inspirational friends."

Welcome to the Litchfield Public Library District

Thank you for visiting the website for the

Litchfield Public Library District.

For the most current information,

please call the library.

Litchfield Carnegie Public Library

is now the Litchfield Public Library District.

As of December 1, 2008, the Litchfield Carnegie Public Library became the Litchfield Public Library District. Only the name has changed: our commitment to our patrons and the people of Litchfield remain the same.

The change to a district library means opportunity for expansion of the library's service area. It means library trustees are elected officials, much like city aldermen, park district officers, or county board members.

For questions about library districts and how it might affect you, see the "What is a Library District and What Does It Mean to Me?" page within our website. Or, feel free to call the Library will questions.
